A blog formerly was a individual website meant to be like a diary or journal, is often a blend of what is going on in a person's daily life and what is happening on the Internet. Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that differentiates them from other static websites.
Is It possible to make money from blogging?
If you already know a lot about a specific subject then it won’t take long at all to write a few sentences about it and have your blog up and running. Obviously, writing about what you really like helps because, in the beginning, the money you earn is a bonus rather than an income that will allow you to quit your day job. I’ve learn about many people that earn wonderful incomes from their blogs so perhaps you’ll be one of the lucky ones that can quit the day job in the very near future.
Ways to make money on the internet using a blog
There are several ways you can earn money using a blog:
1 One way is with Affiliate Sales which is promoting another person's product where you get paid a commission.
2 Adsense which is where you have advertisements for other people's products put on your blog and you are paid when a visitor clicks on this ad.
3 Direct sales where you are selling your own product or a product that you have the resale rights to.
4 Sell Ad Space: Sell ad space on your blog, this is a excellent way to profit from a blog. There are no middlemen to take some of your profits and you can maximize the profit on investment of your advertising inventory.
5 Writing for a blog network to make money on the internet
If you have been thinking about making money on the internet from a blog, but do not know much about blog installation and optimization; and blog marketing,you may consider writing for an established blog network and get paid for your contribution in the network. Generally, participating in a blog network is free or low cost and can help you learn a lot in setting up advertising opportunities for your blog.There are quite a lot of blog networks on the Internet. Below are some of the most popular blog networks that pay people for blogging:
(1)Weblogs Inc: Weblogs has been on the internet for many years and it is one of the most popular blog networks. Weblogs has 90 fine blogs covering a vast array of topics and subjects. If you are enthusiastic about a topic, you can apply to write for one of their 90 blogs that cover your subject. Weblogs pays bloggers based on their contribution. The more blog entries you posted, the more you’ll earn.
(2)Know More Media: Know More Media is a fast growing blog network specializing in business information and news. The owners of the network are always inviting people to become a contributing author of one of the business blogs in their network. They seek business experts who have experience in blogging and building on the internet readership to join their network and publish at least one post a day, 5 days a week in their blogs.Unlike other blog networks, Know More Media also requires bloggers to take part in blog promotion and networking to grow your blog traffic. So if you get hired, you’ll be spending a lot of time working on your blog in Know More Media. It is much like a full-time blogging position. And your reward will link to your effort. Know More Media claims that authors typically earn from $150 to $1000 per month.
Joining and writing for a blog network may be the best thing for you, especially if you are just starting out your blogging career but lack of blogging experience and technical knowledge needed to run a blog that generate income for you.
Step by step tutorials
Step 1 - Finding a Topic
Think of a topic you are interested in, You also need to make sure it is something other people are going to be interested in too.
Step 2 - Create Your Blog
Find and create your blog on the internet. I like to use Blogger but other popular Blog platforms are Wordpress and Movable Type.
sign up with Blogger.com, and start creating as many blogs as you want, rightaway. You can be up and running in just minutes. If you don't have a Google Mail account already (Gmail, Adwords, Adsense) you will have to create one, but that is 100% free. Then, you will proceed to the "Create a Blog" section, by clicking on the "Create a Blog" link.
Step 3 -Sign up for Google Adsense
Sign up for Google Adsense and insert the code in the margin of your blog. You can customize your ads in many ways, such as including text links or image links. I prefer the text links only, as they are easier to blend in with your blog and don’t take the focus away from the information. Google Adsense will probably not make you a millionaire but it is an instant way of generating a small amount of money.
Step 4 - Find Something to Sell
If you want to maximize your income and truly learn how to make money with blogs you will want to find an affiliate program to join.A couple of affiliate programs I would suggest are ClickBank and Commission Junction. You can sell anything from office furniture, pet supplies, movies and clothing to PC games, Dieting tips and Audio software.
Step 5 - Social Bookmarking
There is no better advertising than word of mouth, but the next best thing is social bookmarking. You will want to make things easier for people to do this. Social bookmarking sites I use and recommend are Digg, OnlyWire and SocialMarker and they are used for people to share their bookmarks or websites that they have liked with other people in their online community.
I would not suggest you add your own links to these services, but provide visitors to your website the ability to do so.
Step 6 - Write an Article
Write a product review about the product you choose to market. Remember, you are marketing a product here...the product is alreadymade. It is your job to find the people who want/need the information you are offering--and then give it to them. They will buy it if/when the sales pitch sells itself. But, you do NOT have to give or write the sales pitch...the sales page for theproduct you're promoting will have one already -- Most likely written by a professional sales copywriter. All you need to do is guide people there, If you cannot write a product review to save your own life, you can easily outsource it to someone on the warrior forum. A freelance writer would not charge too much for a product review for a Clickbank product. You can expect to pay anywhere from $3 -$20 for a custom written product review, depending on the writer and the wordcount of the review.
Step 7 - Ping
Every time you add new information to your blog, you want to let the blog directories know about it, this is known as pinging. Some Blog providers automatically send out pings when you update, but to be on the safe side you will want to do this manually too. ONLY PING WHEN YOU UPDATE. There are a couple of Ping sites I use which will send a ping to multiple blog directories at the same time. PingMyBlog would be my first port of call and then if for some reason that site is down I would use Ping-o-matic. Remember, to only ping when you update or you could get blacklisted, and that is bad.
Step 8 - Yahoo! Answers and Forums
One of the easiest ways to get targeted visitors to your blog is to make use of the people you want to target. I would suggest you sign up to AT LEAST one forum on the topic you are writing about, and don’t just go straight in there and start posting comments for people to look at your blog, they won’t. The secret is to add the link to your blog in your signature and actively become a member of the forum, posting relevant topics and starting debates within them. The more you post, the more your link will show, and if you provide someone with good info the chances are higher they will click your link.
Yahoo! Answers is along the same lines as forums but the beauty of this is, it’s viewed by thousands of visitors each day. If you don’t already have a Yahoo! account get one and then login and search for questions relating to the topic of your blog and answer them well. You can then insert the link to your blog and as with the forums, if you answer well you may have not only earned yourself a point or two on Yahoo!, but also earned a visitor to your blog.
Step 9 - Update Your Blog
This can be by several means, one is to add new reviews or content to your blog, and if you are going to do this I suggest updating every couple of days. This helps to keep the search engines happy as they love to see new and original content.
